Linda Obuchoska - OBSCURA

Linda Obuchoska was seduced by the wildness of Fellini,

Italian Vogue, Max Beckmann, Science Fiction

and Russian Constructivism.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York.

Linda Obuchoska’s photography series called

“Mannequins-Out On A Limb” and “Religiousness”

caught the eye of collectors, curators and gallerists.

In 2001 the horrific events of 9/11 marked a dramatic

shift in her photography career and she decided to shift her focus to

photojournalism.

Based at Nino’s Rescue Site near Ground Zero,

she photographed the 9/11 Rescue Workers including Fire Fighters,

Police women and men, Red Cross workers, Port Authority Police

and people from all over the world who volunteered to help.

This series of photographs is in the permanent collection of

New York State Museum Cultural Education Center, Albany, NY.

In 2002 she was hired by the NY Post and NY Daily News,

and her photographs have been featured in major publications

Her latest body of work, “Senior Republican Cross Dressers

and Global Warming” is a fascinating look into the world

of senior Republican heterosexual men who, late in life,

discovered the world of cross-dressing while still maintaining

their conservative political beliefs.
